Fingerprinting is the process of determining in every single detail the standard printing conditions of a printer and/or press. The result is a mathematical profile. By using this printer profile DSN is able to predict the final print result taking into account the printing conditions and the substrate. An Epson proof is the result showing the final print result. It gives marketing the opportunity to access the colors of a design long before it is actually printed. Colour corrections are executed by DSN until satisfactory. Only when approved on colors will DSN release the file to the printer for printing. By applying this fingerprinting process, the need for late night press attendance is diminished or indeed avoided.
